We sat down with Adrian Greiner, founder and “chief idea haver” of Bikeplan, one of the very few dedicated consultancies that help destinations develop and implement successful mountain biking projects in their regions. With a team of specialists from environmental engineering, spatial planning and scenography, to tourism, business, community engagement and trail building, the company can cover most projects holistically in-house and after a decade in business, there is a lot to talk about. Adrian lets us look behind the scenes of many of the hallmark Bikeplan projects and shares some of the key learnings and takeaways that help shape master plans for more and better mountain bike destinations in the future. One thing is very apparent: no project is like the other and every destination comes with its own set of opportunities – and challenges!
