Pascal sat down with Greg Kowner, owner of Biroma Bikes, the Bikeschule Zürich as well as, more recently, Biroma BMX. This is the first part of the conversation with Greg where we cover all the ups and downs of running a bike shop in 2020 and the challenges that will most likely stay with us for some time. We picked up on the theme of customisation, something we’ve covered with James before, and how you can get your dream bike in 2021. Greg and I also discuss tips and tricks for first time buyers, first upgrades, e-bikes and many things more!

As we have said from the outset – have a listen to the intro in Episode 1 if you missed it – we wanted to offer a “different take” on the local community here in Switzerland and this episode marks the first time that we are trying to cross the proverbial bridge between our English-speaking, Switzerland-based podcast and just having a conversation with our friends in the local dialect!

Bryson and I discuss the main takeaways of the conversation with Greg and provide our own perspectives so that the English speaking listener also gets the overall picture of the conversation. If you do understand Swiss German, you can just listen to the one on one with Greg after our discussion to get the full picture.

We’ve bounced this idea off of a couple of our friends before we went ahead so we are really curious to see if this works. We do know that a good portion of our listeners is tuning in from abroad, so just let us know in the comments, in a message or a quick email what you think!
