Pascal sat down with Debbie and Philipp Gilgen to talk about the Pumptrack Muttenz, the challenges of starting a new community-based bike project during a global pandemic and how their project has gone about finding the support that they needed. We discuss how to find a good spot for your pump track, what to look out for and what the positive “side effects” of a community bike project look like. We also cover the plans for the future, how Anna Newkirk fits into all of this and why you should always think big!

Our conversation was recorded in Swiss German, so Bryson and I discuss the main takeaways of the conversation with the Gilgens and provide our own perspectives so that the English speaking listener also gets the overall picture. If you do understand Swiss German, you can just listen to the one on one with Debbie and Philipp after our discussion to get the full picture.
